Anita began her career in costuming with an early interest in fashion. This interest in fashion lead her to Chicago where she studied art history, film history, light metals, drawing, anthropology, book binding, textiles, pattern making, draping and fashion design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she received a B.F.A.

After graduation the call of fashion lead her to New York for an internship at a prominent fashion label. While drawing endless leopard spots Anita soon realized that what she wanted was to dress “characters” and researching what lies in the details of what people wear, the psychology and story behind clothing choices and personal style.

This lead Anita to UCLA Department of Theater Film and Television where she received an M.F.A

Anita Cabada is a member of the Costume Designers Guild IA 892, and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Anita continues to work freelance in both TV and film.
